what we stand for

Playing sports allows community members to connect with each other and regularly engage in physical activity, which has been shown to reduce stress and improve mental health.

Our belief is that the bonds forged through being part of a team are priceless. Forming meaningful relationships with others is a key factor in increasing self-esteem and empathy and decreasing risks of anxiety and depression.

The benefits of exercise are well-known: it increases mental and physical energy as well as familiarity with one's body, among many other positive effects.

Our story starts here.

The South Jersey Sober Sports League, or SJSSL, was developed through a partnership between the Hope All Day Foundation and Behavioral Crossroads, LLC. The SJSSL aims to make a difference by providing opportunities for individuals recovering from addiction as well as other members of the community to participate in organized sports. Our league offers one sport per season: kickball in spring, beach volleyball in summer, flag football in fall, and indoor basketball in the winter.
